Demetrio Zema is the Director & Chief Executive Officer of Squared Group, the parent company behind Law Squared, Cubed by Law Squared, and Tetra Claims. As Group CEO, he sets aligned strategy across the portfolio and leads the Group’s operations and executive teams.
Demetrio founded Law Squared in 2016 to provide a true alternative to the traditional law firm model. Since its beginnings as a one-person legal practice to a multi-jurisdictional business recognised for its innovative, fixed cost approach to legal engagement across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
In 2025, Demetrio also founded Cubed by Law Squared, a Microsoft 365-native legal operations platform streamlining intake, matter and contract management for in-house legal teams, and Tetra Claims, a technology-led third-party insurance claims administration business.
An accomplished entrepreneur and lawyer, Demetrio advises Chairs, CEOs and General Counsel on board governance, strategy and complex commercial matters, with his and the firm’s work recognised through multiple industry awards.
Outside the Squared Group, Demetrio plays an active role in the not-for-profit community. He is Chair of Expression Australia (Victorian Deaf Society) and the Royal Tasmanian Society of the Deaf and Blind, a Committee Member of the Zema Energy Studies Scholarship (AEMO + Monash University), and an Advisory Board Member for the Monash University Assistive Technology and Society Centre. He is also a Director of Zema Estate, a family wine and agricultural business in Coonawarra, South Australia.
